Textival is an organisation for publishers, cultural magazines and literary-oriented associations. During the last weekend of March each year, Textival arranges a festival in Gothenburg with talks, readings and workshops as well as a book fair.

Och Studio has designed posters, flyers and programs for the festival since 2011. The visual concept for the festival revolves around a new graphic shape each year, that is used in different ways throughout the various communication materials. Each year, new colors are used whilst the typeface stays the same.

Layers in literature” was the theme for this years festival and this was examined through historical, social, political, material and aesthetic dimensions. Och Studio designed a three dimensional shape that was photographed to be used in all communication. Based on a drawing the shape was first made in clay, which was then scanned and 3D printed. The different stages and layers of the process was all part of the visual concept.
